“Piezoaeroelastic energy harvesting based on an airfoil with double plunge degrees of freedom: modeling and numerical analysis” has been published in the Journal of Fluids and Structures. The work contains an investigation into a coupled nonlinear piezo-electro-aero-elastic model.
“Adaptive design of experiments for efficient and accurate estimation of aerodynamic loads” has been published in the Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology: An International Journal. The work is part of an on-going research collaboration with Noesis Solutions N.V aimed at validating new methodologies of machine learning.
Dr A. Da Ronch has won the Global Partnership Award 2017-18 with Prof Flavio J. Silvestre from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), Brazil, as Co-Investigator. The project is on Technological Advances for a Greener Aviation and will run for 1 year starting June 2017.
“Gust load analysis using computational fluid dynamics derived reduced order models” has been published in the Journal of Fluids and Structures. The journal contains work Dr Da Ronch carried out during his Post-Doctoral time at the University of Liverpool, UK.
Dr A. Da Ronch was invited to give a seminar in the Division of Engineering Science at Queen Mary University of London on 01 February 2017.
We have presented three research papers at the AIAA SciTech conference held in Grapevine, TX, during 9 to 13 January 2017. You can find the presentations here:
1) Analysis of Resolved Scales of Motion in Aeroelastic Problems, presented by Prof. M. Righi;
2) A Gust Reconstruction Framework Applied to a Nonlinear Reduced Order Model of a Wing Typical Section, presented by S. Simeone;
3) Extension of Analytical Indicial Aerodynamics to Generic Trapezoidal Wings in Subsonic Flow, presented by Dr A. Da Ronch.
Dr A. Da Ronch held a Visiting Associate Professorship position at the National Laboratory of Aerospace, Beihang University, China between 27 October and 19 December 2016.
